The Prometheans is the Society for the History of Technology’s (SHOT) special interest group dedicated to historical studies of engineering and engineering education. We are also committed to outreach efforts to engineering educators and practicing engineers in order to maintain not only important institutional ties, but vital intellectual ties that continue to enrich the scholarship within our discipline. As The Prometheans, we consider ourselves to be a node in the interdisciplinary International Network of Engineering Studies (INES). We are also active in other organizations including American Society for Engineering Education’s Liberal Education / Engineering & Society Division (LEES).
We’re in the process of building up the SIG and its activities. Please join our SIG and help build up the Prometheans!
